Toby was raised in Odessa, Texas, by his mother, Lucy Corrales Acosta, and his father, Manuel Acosta. He attended Kersey High School and graduated in 1977. He later earned a degree in carpentry and proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Toby loved being outdoors; whether he was exploring, traveling, or fishing, it was a must. He was the biggest Denver Broncos fan EVER. Most of all, Toby loved spreading the Word of God and ministering to anyone who needed guidance, prayer, faith, healing, or comfort. He had a heart for others and was known for being loving, understanding, and compassionate to those in need.
Toby is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Josie Acosta; his sons Joe, George, Ruben, and Nick; his daughters JoAnn, MaryAnn and Sonya; his siblings Manuel Alvarado and Elida Alvarado. He is also survived his nieces and nephews Kathy, Carlos, Oscar, and Junior Alvarado; his many beloved grandchildren; as well as numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles. He also leaves behind his very special prayer partner and fishing buddy, Trinity Trevino.
He was preceded in death by his brother Manuel Alvarado and his mother Lucy Corrales Acosta.
