Victor was reared and educated in Greeley. After his education, he started his construction career of 36 years, working throughout Colorado. He worked for Diversified Construction for numerous years as a foreman. After his construction career, he worked as a custodian and also maintained the Hillside Carwash in Greeley.
On January 31, 1996, Victor married Elsa Sepulvida in Denver.
Victor loved to camp, fish, ride his Harley-Davidson Softail Springer, which he called “Misty Blue”. Victor enjoyed restoring old furniture, as well as making new furniture. He also enjoyed cooking, especially chimichangas, green chili, scalloped potatoes, meatloaf, chicken Italiano and carnitas.
Victor is survived by his wife, Elsa of Greeley; two daughters, Maria C. Martinez of Greeley and Geraldine Mandez of Commerce City; son, Sean Mandez (Becky) of Westminster; his mother, Mary Padilla of Greeley; seven sisters, Alva Padilla and Mary Soto both of Eaton, Rosemary Vargas (J.R.) of Evans, Lynda Mata and Priscilla Baca both of Greeley, Cathy Allen of Modesto, California and Regina Morochol of Pocatello, Idaho; three brothers, Max Padilla of Greeley, Nicholas Baca (Susan) of Windsor and David Baca (Lucy) of Ft. Collins; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandson and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, a sister and three brothers.
