Lit a candle in memory of Virginia (Klinke) Akins

I was in Mrs. Akins' 2nd grade class at Dan D. Rogers in 1959. I loved going to reading circle. I eventually became a 2nd grade teacher and she influenced that decision. I have many fond memories of her.

I too had Mrs. Akins for my second grade teacher at Dan. D. Rogers in Dallas in the ‘59/’60 school term. Besides being young and pretty, she was always very sweet. We all loved her and thrived in her classroom. How I wish I had spoken with her since those days.

I saw the obit and realized she was teacher in elementary school in the mid '60's I can only remember 2 teachers but she was always my favorite beautiful teacher - second grade. I'm sorry for your loss. Ire her how I cried when 2nd grade was over as she was so sweet to me.

I send my heart felt condolences and love to Bob, Beth, Bob Jr., Lisa & John. I'm so sorry for your loss. I will greatly miss Virginia. She was like a surrogate grandmother to me and a dear friend. I will keep in my heart all the good times we spent shopping and gabbing together. Laughing, visiting, sharing about our families and all the things that were important to us. I was her caregiver for 2 years. Every morning when I would come over, she would always ask me, ""How are you doing""? Even if she was having a rough morning. She was such a beautiful, kind, good hearted, sweet, sharp and loving person.
I will forever miss you Virginia. I will keep all those memories in my heart always. I know I will see you again. So, this is just bye for now. May God keep you in his loving arms.
