Virginia Irene Wiggett of Greeley, CO died on January 9, 2022 (age 85). She was born May 13, 1936 on a farm south of Kersey, CO to David and Mollie (Eckardt) Brethauer. She attended schools in Snyder, Fort Morgan, Wiggins and Kersey, CO. She graduated from Kersey in 1954.
Virginia married Harold Wiggett on February 6, 1955 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Greeley, CO, and were married 55 years. They had four children: Bonnie Jean (deceased as baby), Alan (Dawn) Wiggett, Vickie Vetter-Holmes (Troy) and Rick (Susan) Wiggett; five grandchildren: Blaise (Brad) Howell, Derek (Tiffany) Wiggett, BreeAnna (David) Hughes, Katie Wiggett and Allison Wiggett; and six great grandchildren: Piper & Trey Wiggett, Gavin Howell, Shane Flot, Delanie Hughes, and Dustyn Wiggett.
Virginia worked at Woolworth, J.C. Penney’s, Wright & McGill Fishing Rod Company, and had a daycare in her home for over 40 years, retiring in 1998. She loved cooking, baking, and sewing. She assisted Harold on their acreage raising cattle for slaughter to many families and his custom hay business during his retirement. She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her children (Alan, Vickie and Rick), all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, her brother Jerold (Dorothy) Brethauer, and sister-in-law’s, Kathy and Delores Brethauer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Floyd and Ivan Brethauer, and infant daughter Bonnie Jean Wiggett.
