

Wayne Andrew Wagner was born November 9, 1944 in Redlands California to Walter and Nelle (DeWit) Wagner. Wayne ended his earthly journey and entered into the joy of His Lord on September 17, 2022. His earthly journey was a life well lived. His legacy a loving and caring family.
Wayne grew up in an orange grove in Redlands. As a youth Wayne worked in the orange groves lighting smudge pots when it frosted. He attended Redlands Christian School and graduated from Redlands High School in 1963.
After graduation Wayne was working at a local gas station when he met the love of his life Jeannie Smega. He later went to work for General Telephone and Electric and then for Atlantic Richfield.
Wayne and Jean were married on August 20, 1965. On November 8, 1967 Wayne and Jean were blessed with their first child, daughter Julie. On November 7, 1969 their second daughter Kathy was born. It was just easier to remember three birthdays in three days. Kathy, Julie, and Wayne, November 7th, 8th and 9th.
In 1971 Wayne, Jean and the girls began a new adventure and moved to Colorado, first to Monte Vista and then settling in their home just outside Alamosa Colorado. In 1975 their family was completed with the birth of their son Jeff on March 15.
Wayne worked in the tractor/implement industry for many years as well as farming and ranching in the San Luis Valley. In 1985 the family moved to Greeley Colorado where Wayne worked for an implement dealer and then finished his working career with Weld County in the Building and Grounds Department.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jean Wagner, Daughter Julie and her husband Dan Tacker of Brighton Colorado. Daughter Kathy Wagner of Bella Vista Arkansas. Son Jeff Wagner and wife Briana of Greely Colorado. Grandchildren Amy Tacker of Santa Monica, Michaela Molvie and husband Lee of Pine, Colorado, Ryan Merrill of Columbia, Pennsylvania, Jessica Naugle and husband Danny of Cassville, Missouri, Bradley Lueckenhoff and wife Brittany of Cassville, Missouri, Kaitlin Wright and husband Trey of Sterling, Colorado, Tristan Barfoot and wife Makayla of Greeley, Colorado, Wade Wagner of Greeley, Colorado and Kate Wagner of Greeley, Colorado. Great grandchildren Henry Naugle, Greyson Lueckenhoff, Baisley Wright, and Colter Barfoot. Sister Gayle Hommes and husband George of Fairhope, Alabama, sister Betty Hoekstra and husband Hank of Bradenton, Florida, and brother Dave Wagner and wife Keri of San Marcos, California. His mother-in-law Priscilla Smega. And many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Preceded in death by his parents Walter and Nelle Wagner, grandson Lee Tacker, father-in-Law Frank Smega. And other aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services will be held at the Allnutt Funeral Home, Macy Chapel at 6515 W. 20 St, Greeley, CO 80634 on Friday, September 23, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.
