

Wilber B ‘(Bill)’ Clark, Jr. age 93 of Estes Park, CO, formerly of Mpls. MN, passed away Mar. 3, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilber B + Lillian; wife Delphie, brother Jack, + son Dan. He is survived by his daughter Jane Truesdale (Roger) of Estes Park, CO, son John Clark Mpls., grandson Eric Shosted Los Angeles + granddaughter Alexandra Clark Mpls.
Bill graduated from Washburn High School in Mpls. and the University of MN with a degree in Architecture. He served his country in the Army Air Corp during WWII as an instructor of navigation on a bombing crew, reaching the level of 2nd LT. For many years, Bill served as a volunteer for YMCA Camp Ihduhapi, serving as President of the board. In the 60’s he and his partners formed Peterson, Clark + Griffith architectural firm, later becoming Peterson-Clark + Assoc. This prominent firm designed schools, churches, + office buildings including Hyatt Regency Hotel, Norwest Operations Center and the remodeling of Sabathani Community Center as well as 7500 York Cooperative in Edina. They also designed several buildings for what is now Three Rivers Park. Bill served as Associate architect on the Hennepin County Government Center and the MN State Zoo. This firm also proposed a covered football field which was proposed to the Buffalo Bills and Chicago Bears, as well as a proposal for the MN Vikings before the Metrodome was built.
Bill loved spending time at his cabin on Bay Lake in central MN. He served as a volunteer president of Eaglewood Assoc. He had excellent carpentry skills, remodeling the entire cabin by himself. He also excelled in playing bridge. In his younger days he enjoyed golf, fast pitch softball and bowling. His passions were classical + jazz music and sports.
There will be a celebration of Bill’s life in July at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorial donations to charity of your choice.
