

Willard I. “Willie” Williams, 78 of Eaton, passed away July 31, 2015 at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. Willard was born October 21, 1936 in Ralston, OK to Francis and Dollie (Howrey) Williams. He married Jerry P. Cook on February 16, 1957 in Tulsa, OK.
Willie was a resident of Eaton, CO since July of 2007. He grew up in Oklahoma graduating from high school in Waynoka, OK. He went on to attend Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, OK. He entered the Navy in 1958 and was honorably discharged in 1962. He later worked for the Santa Fe Railway later known as the Burlington Northern Railroad.
Willie attended Taylor Ranch Baptist Church in Albuquerque, NM. He enjoyed communicating on short-wave (ham) radios, making wooden pens, welding, building and repairing computers, and NASCAR. He loved his family and was a loyal friend to all. He never met a stranger.
He is survived by his wife Jerry P. Williams; son Robert I. (Deborah) Williams; daughter Charlene K. (Gary) Schmunk and Cynthia L. (Jim Snider) Clark; sister-in-law Frances Laging; 7 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers-in-law; a sister; and a nephew.
Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday, August 7, 2015 at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 3815 W. 20th St., in Greeley.
