William Ray Conley

William Ray “Willy” Conley, 31, of Platteville, died Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Medical Center of the Rockies. He was born on June 4, 1982 in Greeley, Colorado to Herbert and Debora (Hess) Conley.

William never talked or walked, yet he could drum with his hands and had a look in his eyes that said he is special. He will always be special for all who knew him. He enjoyed the outdoors, fireworks and just being around people with so much more. William lived with Kaye and Mike Barney, his caretakers. They said, “God granted his life to their care” and I must add they gave him, for the last 14 years of his life on earth, the best care. William loved life and gave hugs, I would always tell William “You can’t tell Mom you love me with your mouth but you can tell mom with your hugs” which he did throughout the years. That’s where he got his nickname “HUGGER”. He would even give others hugs, his form of saying “hi”. It only shows “ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS”, we all need those hugs and kisses each and every day of our lives. He’s taught us many things throughout life. William expressed himself with his actions and he taught us all about happiness. That laugh and look in his eyes made him a joy to be around.

He senses where echoes are by projecting his voice in amazing ways, creating sounds that were enjoyable to hear. William will be deeply missed. May God enjoy William in heaven as we have enjoyed him on earth. May the tears and sorrows that are felt by many, turn into love and caring for others…William would like that.

William will be missed and loved with a place in our hearts: Mom, Dad, sister, Aubrey, his caregiver, Kaye Barney and family (they made William a part of their family), Grandma Conley, Aunt Evelyn and Steve, Uncle Pat and many other family and friends.

Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2013 followed by the Funeral service at 2:00 p.m. both at the Family of Christ Presbyterian Church, 2410 35th Avenue, Greeley.
