William Dale Lindenmayer

William Dale Lindenmayer, 74, of LaSalle, Colorado passed away at home on July 19, 2026. Bill was born on September 25, 1951, in Marengo, Iowa to Richard and Bonita Lindenmayer. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Marengo. He graduated from Iowa Valley Community High School and went on to attend Central Methodist College where he received a BA degree in 1974.

Bill was a master of many jobs, running the projector at the local movie theater, working in a butcher shop, selling insurance and building bridges and houses. He always had time for hunting and fishing though.

On September 4, 1982, he married Skipper (Zipperlen) at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mission, Kansas. After moving to Miami Beach, Florida, Bill worked construction doing tenant finish. In 1984 they moved to Nederland and then Jamestown, Colorado, where he was a project manager doing retail tenant finish. It was there that they welcomed two sons. The construction business then called him to Wylie, Texas, where they spent the next four years. Missing the mountains, they moved to LaSalle, Colorado, where he worked for Aberdeen Construction and raised cattle on the ranch he had always dreamed of. He retired in 2017 and enjoyed gardening, camping, hunting, fishing and riding his Harley. Bill and Skipper enjoyed many wonderful motorcycle camping trips. His favorite trip was our 2,633 mile trip to Banff, Canada to see Lake Louise, and it was spectacular. He never tired of sharing pictures and tales of our trips. He always loved getting to spend time with his children and grandchildren celebrating birthdays and hunting and fishing adventures.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife Skipper, and his two sons, Dr. Bradley Lindenmayer (Jessica) of Inola, OK and Gunnery Sergeant Brian Lindenmayer USMC (Tara) of Jacksonville, NC as well as grandchildren Bridger, Charlotte, and Lillian. He is also survived by his sisters Suzanne (David) Riherd of Belle Plaine, IA, and June Lindenmayer of Steamboat Springs, CO as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Bonita Lindenmayer.

We begin to remember not just that you left us too soon, but that you lived and that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget.
