Bill was born on December 7, 1955 in Del Norte, Colorado to Claude and Betty Lou Williams.
In 1960, Bill and his family moved to Greeley. Where he participated in baseball football and basketball during his grade school, Jr high hi and early high school years. Bill graduated from Greeley West High School, Class of 1974. He worked many jobs in his lifetime, from short order cook, home inspections in Oregon, and his well-known ability for drywall and small repairs. He was self-employed for many years until he had to retire to truck driving for many local companies in the area.
From hauling water to silage cutting for local farmers, gravel hauling with Bucklen and his last adventure with Duran Excavating.
Bill was a lifetime member of the NRA. He loved to hunt, shoot and fish. He won an ice-fishing tournament when he caught a 37” fish on the first day. He also loved dogs. He is survived by his border collie Chey. Friends may remember his pet tricks he taught them all, opening and shutting doors were the best. Bill also enjoyed arrowhead hunting and has a beautiful collection from over the years.
Bill was very good to children and donated a lot of his earnings to help others and animals. He had a heart of gold and he had no filter. He was known to be a character and you never could tell if he was serious or grumpy at you.
Bill is survived by his sisters, Mary Kay Monson (Terry) and Loretta Schmidt (Robert) and brothers, Patrick Williams (Debra) and Thomas L. “Tom” Williams(Heidi).
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Richard A. Williams and a sister, Barbara A. Royer.
A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held at his most cherished spot for hunting arrowheads in Platoro, Colorado in July 2019.
