Wilma Catherine “Cathy” Mathews Roadifer, of Greeley, passed away on July 8, 2023 at Grace Pointe Care Community. She was born on August 31, 1928 to Jonah and Elizabeth (Kibel) Sanderson in Haigler, Nebraska.
Cathy grew up in Fort Collins, Colorado and attended Waverly High School. On February 14, 1949 she married Willie Carl Mathews and together they raised four children, Paul Ray, David, James and Stephen. She was a hardworking farmwife and she raised cattle, goats and chickens. After 30 years of marriage, Willie “Bill” Mathews passed away in 1980. Cathy was a savvy business woman who owned a gas station and managed multiple rental homes. She married Howard Roadifer in Greeley, Colorado in 1987 and remained together until his passing in 2002. Catherine loved the Lord and taught Sunday school and other children since the age of 11. She founded a church in Gill, Colorado, and pastured for 3 years. She was also a dedicated member of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union, Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church and the Kersey Cowboy Church. She was actively involved with the senior centers in Kersey CO and Hill-N-Park community.
Cathy is survived by her son and his wife Stephen and Donna, Daughter in-laws Alisa and Cory, Grandchildren, Jason, James, BJ, and Stephanie, and 14 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her Husband’s Willie and Howard, Sons, Paul, David, and James, Parents “Bud” and “Lizzie”, Sisters, Mary, Leona, Dorothy and Minnie, Brothers, Robert, Hank and Raymond, Great Grandchild Dontez Pope.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Allnutt Funeral Service, Macy Chapel, 6521 W. 20th Street, Greeley at 9:30 a.m., a Funeral Service will follow at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, July 18, at noon.
