Alma Florence Dodd

Born April 3, 1935 in Tompkinsville, KY, she was the daughter of Clyde Porter and Hattie (Deckard) Sheffield and was a graduate of Broad Ripple High, Indianapolis.

She married Jack Norman Dodd on June 11, 1954 and he preceded her in death on January 11, 2005.

Alma had worked in dietary at the Putnam County Hospital for 25 years. She was also an avid reader.

Alma is survived by her daughters, Sandra Dodd, Susie (Bill) McMurtry, and Sally (Doug) Fowler; a sister, Mary J. Voorhis; daughter-in-law, Cindy Dodd; grandchildren, Patrick Fowler, Andrew Minikus, Denver McMurtry, Ashley Friend, Tiffany McMurtry, Logan McMurtry, and Michael Dodd; and ten great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and a son, Steve Dodd.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at the Bainbridge Cemetery with interment to follow.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 15th at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home.
