Alva "Ray" Brattain

Alva “Ray” Brattain Jr, age 77, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2013. Born January 27, 1936 in Carbon, the son of Alva Ray and Dorothy Mae (Harney) Brattain and was a graduate of Greencastle High School “class of 1954”. He married Darlene (Cash) Brattain on October 6, 1957 and she survives. Ray worked at IBM for 32 years, retiring in 1987 and had served in the National Guard for six years. Survivors include his wife, Darlene; daughters, Teresa Jackson & fiancé’ Keith Pingleton, Lori Rowings, and Tina Jackson & fiancé’ Matt Sillery, all of Greencastle; ten grandchildren, Mandy Richardville & fiancé’ Erich Nelson, Randy Jackson, Nathan (Erin) Rowings, Lisa (Chad) Oliver, Lindsey (Anthony) Fenwick, Danielle (Mike) Dobson, Samantha (Levi) Jones, Kylie Rowings, Ethan Sillery, and Brody Jackson; ten great grandchildren; his mother, and a sister. He was preceded in death by his Father; and a great grandson. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with Pastor John Nees officiating. Interment will follow at Clinton Falls Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am on Saturday, March 2nd until time of service.
