Named Ares after the Greek god of war, he truly was our little warrior—strong, independent, determined, and completely himself. He brought kindness and welcoming to all he encountered. Ares had a wonderful sense of humor and a personality all his own. He was funny, curious, and never afraid to follow his own interests, no matter how wonderfully unique they were.
Ares loved playing video games with his cousins and his daddy. He was also fascinated by fire alarms and ceiling fans, two things he could spend hours talking about.
Ares adored his little sister, and the two of them shared a special bond. They created countless memories together and plenty of mischief along the way, moments that will be treasured forever.
Ares had big dreams for such a little boy. He dreamed of one day owning a penthouse suite in New York City and living for ever with his parents. His dream job was to be a fire alarm tester—a perfect reflection of his imagination, independence, and wonderfully unique way of seeing the world.
As his parents, we are truly heartbroken to have to live in a world without our Ares. He made our lives better simply by being in them. He brought us love, laughter, purpose, and countless memories that we will carry with us forever. Though his life was far too short, the impact he made on our lives will never end. We will continue to carry his love, his memory, and the beautiful little boy he was with us every day for the rest of our lives. We will always be his parents, and he will always be our little warrior.
We always knew Ares had a unique mind and a way of seeing the world that was entirely his own. We truly believed that one day his curiosity, creativity, and wonderfully different way of thinking would make the world a better place. Perhaps, in ways we may never fully know, he already has.
Memorial services for Ares will be held Monday, October 12th, 2026 at 10:30am at the First Church of the Nazarene, 801 Fort Harrison Road, Terre Haute, IN 47804
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Ares' memory to the ChadTough Defeat DIPG Foundation in support of DIPG cancer research. Our hope is that Ares' legacy can help bring us closer to a future where another family does not have to experience the unimaginable pain of losing their child to this devastating disease.
