Bernard Ray Snider

Born March 30, 1932, in Greencastle, he was the son of Halbert and Grace (Stewart) Snider. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean war.

Bernard retired from Lonestar Industries in 1996, after 45 years of service.

He was a member of the Lena Community Church formerly Lena United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years Dorothy Marie (Martin) Snider; parents; brothers Bobby Snider, Wayne Snider, Richard Snider, and Mickey Snider; sisters Irene Mosteller, Betty Harney, and Vivian Snider.

Bernard is survived by his children Jeffrey “Jeff” (Robin) Snider and Anita (Gerry) Webb; brothers Halbert (Linda) Snider Jr., Jim (Gwen) Snider, Billy Snider, and Rex (Linda) Snider; grandchildren Hollie (Mike) Fowler, Hannah Mitchell, Tanner (Keeliegh) Snider, and Benjamin Webb; great grandchildren Addison & Spencer Fowler, and Enslie & Eli Mitchell.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Interment will follow with military honors at Little Walnut Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, October 26th and one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorial Contributions may be made in memory to the Salvation Army or the donor’s favorite charity.
