

Born in rural Putnam County, she was the daughter of Elwood W. and Helen I. (Miller) Pollom. She was a graduate of Reelsville High School.
June was a homemaker and worked with her husband in the Greencastle Veterinary Clinic for many years. She was a member of First Christian Church, serving as a deacon and President of the CWF group. June had served as past member of the board of Putnam County Comprehensive Services; a member of DAR, former Regent of NSDAR Washburn Chapter; PEO; Civil War Roundtable; Progress History Club; Indiana Historical Society; and the Putnam County Historical Society.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Dr. Donald Brattain and Dallas Nichols; sons Jeffrey Carr and David Brattain; and grandson Keith Carr.
June is survived by her sons Drew Brattain and Mark (Julie) Carr; daughter-in-law Jill Brattain; grandchildren Makenzie Carr, Nicholas (Jennifer) Brattain, Eric (Ciera) Brattain, Emma (Micah) Wolfe, Elijah Brattain, and Hannah Brattain; and eight great-grandchildren. June shared a home with many animals including Butch, her beloved dog.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, August 3, 2026, at the Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home on Monday.
