Betty June Gilley

Betty was born in Greencastle on February 13, 1933, the daughter of Jesse and Daisy (Williams) Rumley.

Mrs. Gilley was a member of Fillmore United Methodist Church and was active with the Fillmore United Methodist Women. She served as the activities director for several years with Heritage House Convalescent Center, now known as The Waters of Greencastle. Betty loved her church, her family, and going camping.

Survivors include her four children, Marvin Gilley, Kevin Gilley, Steven Gilley, (wife-Heather), and Brenda Wells, (husband-Darrin); a sister, Sarah Burroff; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of 70 years, Charles R. Gilley.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
