Beverly Kay Fislar

Born October 7, 1959, in Greencastle, she was the daughter of Charles G. and Myrtle Louise (Shaner) York and attended Greencastle High School.

Beverly had worked at South Putnam School Corporation and DePauw University as custodian for several years. She was an avid TEMU shopper, fishing, and anything outdoors. Her greatest love was her family and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Chuck York & Jack York; sister & brother-in-law Judy & Daniel Cook; granddaughter Margaret Smith and father-in-law Fred Henry Fislar.

Beverly is survived by her husband Jerry L. Fislar; children Holly Marie York Smith (Joshua Sims), Christopher Douglas, & Kaitlin Fislar (Jose Sanchez); sister Patricia (Henry) Stitzle; grandchildren Aaron (Bri) Smith, Tyler (Haley) Smith, Devon Smith, Kai Tarver, Luca Tarver, and Emmet Fislar; great grandchildren Shawn Smith, Jolyn Smith, Joseph Smith, & Jalena Smith; and mother-in-laws Joyce Evelyn Fislar & Marge Montgomery. The family’s love is displayed by 12 dozen roses, 11 real roses and 1 artificial, we will love you until the last one dies.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Boone-Hutcheson Cemetery, Greencastle. Inurnment will follow.
