

Born March 10, 1935 in Rockville, she was the daughter of Elbert Gail and Frances Margritte (Thornton) Irwin and was a graduate of Greencastle High School “Class of 1953”.
Carolyn was a homemaker. She had also worked seven years at IBM, in the kitchen at Northeast School, and was a demo product sampler at Walmart, Kroger, and Marsh.
She was a member of the Putnam County Hospital Guild and did volunteer work at the Putnam County Hospital for several years. She was a member of the Long Branch Church of Christ.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Donald Flint; her children, L. Diane Baker, Craig Flint, and Kent (Stephanne) Flint; sisters, Eleanor Buis and Dona (Dale) Pierce; a brother, Donnie (Wilma) Irwin; and five grandchildren, Ryan Garl, Alyssa Flint, Hannah Flint, Keaton Flint and Bryant Flint.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Letha Cofer and Marjorie Wallace; and brothers, Robert and infant Francis Gail Irwin.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, December 20th at the funeral home.
