

He was born February 7, 1932, in Putnam County to the late Harvey Cecil and Lola Edna (Proctor) Nichols.
After graduating from Bainbridge High School, Dallas proudly served as a mechanic in the United States Air Force. Upon completing his military service, he returned home to the family farm, where he built a life centered on faith, family and hard work while raising his family and operating the dairy farm. Following his retirement from farming, he worked as a custodian for Jones School, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic.
Dallas also enjoyed competing in the Putnam County Fair Open Class Flower and Garden shows and was an avid supporter of the 4-H Horse and Pony and Dog programs.
Dallas is survived by his wife, June Brattain; a son: Terry (Kim) Nichols, 3 daughters: Debbie (Bruce) Prather, Beth (Steve) Baker and Pattie (Brian) Tyree; 8 Grandchildren: Makenzee (Dave) Salzgeber, Maycee (Destin) Holmes, Marlee (Greg) Zimmerman, Brandi (Kevin) Holtze, Casie (Dave) Goveia, Katie Baker, Matthew (Ali) Barwise, Dani (Jake) Roddy, 16 Great Grandchildren and 7 Great Great Grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings; Lucile Burkett, Herschel Nichols, Edith Fry, Bob Nichols, Doyle Nichols; his wife of over 40 years, Charlene (Graff) Nichols.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 7th at Fillmore Christian Church, 102 N. Main St, Fillmore, In.
The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 11a.m. until the time of service.
Interment services will follow at Fillmore Cemetery.
