Born September 12, 1938, in Aledo, IL., she was the daughter of John D. and Gladys Irene (Kiefer) Swinger. She was a graduate of Galesburg High School and went on to receive her associate’s degree in business from the Browns Business College.
Darla retired after 51 years as an executive secretary from ADM in Galesburg. She was a member of the Open Bible Church, Galesburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters Nancy (Ralph) Gilmore and Myrna Davis.
Darla is survived by her brother Arlen Swinger; nieces Lisa (Doug) Wilheim, Jolene (Donnie) Watson, and Annette (Dirk) Hardyman; and several nieces, nephew, great nieces, and great nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Darla on October 3, 2026, at the Open Bible Church, Galesburg, IL.
