David Warren Lane

David Warren Lane was born on June 10, 1937, in Greencastle, Indiana. His parents were Francis and Irene Lane. David graduated from Bainbridge High School in 1955 and Purdue University in 1959. After graduating from Purdue, he served eight years in the US Army on both active and reserve duty.

David was married to Janet Dawson and they lived on their family farm in Greencastle. The couple had one daughter, Suzanne Marie Lane, before Janet's passing in 1980.

David later married Barbara Behn and they remained on their farm in Greencastle. The two owned and operated various local businesses preceding their retirement.

David was an active member of his community, serving on the North Putnam School board, the Putnam County 4-H council and the Little Walnut Conservancy board just to name a few.

David was a fifty-year member of the Greencastle Elks Clubs. He was also a Mason at Temple Lodge 47 as well as the Scottish Rite in Indianapolis.

David is survived by his Son-In-Law Jeffery Rudes, his grandsons Hunter and Hayden Rudes, Hayden's wife Camryn Rudes and finally, his cousin John David Eberle.

Graveside services for David will be on Thursday, October 22, 2026 at 1:00pm at Brick Chapel Cemetery.
