Debra Lee Mills Woody

She was born on September 16, 1953 in Washington, Indiana to Clarence A. Mills and Ruth Helderman Mills.

Debra was a 1971 graduate of Washington High School, and graduated from Vincennes University where she was active in the music department and where she met her husband, James Woody. She enjoyed singing Gospel Music.

Her father preceded her in death.

Surviving are her husband, Jim who she married on September 27, 1975; two children, Joshua Mills Woody of Evansville and Katrina Maree Woody of Greencastle; her mother, Ruth E. Mills of Washington, IN; two sisters, Donna Mills Reedy Everett of Marietta, GA and Sharon Mills Ashmore of Pensacola, FL; nephew, Mark Reedy of Washington, D.C.; two nieces, Allyson Ashmore Hale of Spanish Fort, AL and Lindsey Ashmore Aune of Carrollton, TX; a great niece, Abigail Hale; brother-in-law, Robert Woody and wife Margaret and sister-in-law, Kristen Dockter and their families; and numerous cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 2 P.M. at the Bittles & Hurt Funeral Home, 602 East Washington Street, Greencastle, 765-653-6511. Interment will follow at Brick Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 from 5 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.

In Debra’s memory, in the race for the cure, memorials may be made to the Putnam County Relay for Life. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
