

She was born on March 27, 1924 in Somerset, Kentucky to Herbert W. McGraw and Damie L. Abbott McGraw.
She married Pleasant C. Malicoat on February 11, 1939 and he preceded her in death on September 8, 1994.
Effie was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister Anna Jean Cox; brothers, Bill McGraw, Carl McGraw and Kenny McGraw; a son, Herbert Dae; and a grandson, Johnny Joe Malicoat.
Mrs. Malicoat was a member of the Women Of The Moose, Lodge #1592, and attended Bainbridge Christian Church.
Surviving are her children, Richard Malicoat and wife Dolores, Donnie Malicoat and wife Janella, Patricia Malicoat, Linda Adams, Brenda Malicoat and Mary Lewis and husband Mike; a sister, Juanita Willard; a brother, Wallace McGraw; an aunt, Bessie Osborn; 23 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren; 35 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at 10 A.M. at Bittles & Hurt Funeral Home with Pastor Walter Beam of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at New Maysville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Malicoat will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who enjoyed cooking and mushroom hunting.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, American Heart Association or Moose Heart.
