Elizabeth E. Spencer

Elizabeth E. Spencer, age 88, of Greencastle, formerly of Richmond, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Asbury Towers Healthcare.

Born July 23, 1924 in Martins Ferry, Ohio, she was the daughter of Christopher F. and Miriam (Blackmore) Blanknecht. She married Theodore Spencer on September 2, 1944 and he preceded her in death on July 29, 1987.

She had worked at the Armstrong Dry Cleaners from 1961 until retiring in 1993. She was a former member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Richmond.

Survivors include her daughter, Alice Huffaker and companion, Charlie Wey of Greencastle; two granddaughters, Dia Watt and husband, David of Crawfordsville and Tasha Glutting and husband, John of Kingsland, GA; four great grandchildren, Nelson and Mason Harpham, Austin and Kaylee Weger, and three step great grandchildren, Brandon, Jessica, and Dillon Watt.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Peggy Lou Spencer; parents; three sisters, Edna Impson, Freida Kosman, and Ethel Blanknecht; and brother, Chris Stahl.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at the Earlham Cemetery in Richmond, IN.
