

Born July 2, 1927, in Osceola, Arkansas, he was the son of Harry H. and Pearl (Ray) Brooks. He married Helen Lundgren on June 23, 1951.
Harry served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1945-46. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri, in 1950. He worked in the air conditioning and refrigeration industry for more than five decades and retired after 34 years of service as sales engineer from Mechanical Supply company of St. Louis.
Harry was a member of the Third Baptist Church in St. Louis where he served as deacon, trustee, and co-led the coffee and doughnut ministry with Helen.
Harry and Helen dined at Favazza’s on the Hill in St. Louis nearly every Friday night for more than thirty years.
“Grandpa B” was a great fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, and a great critic of whomever happened to be their manager at any time. He maintained a lifelong interest in railroads, beginning as a boy hanging out at the Frisco Depot in Blytheville, Arkansas.
Survivors include sons, Howard (Marilyn) Brooks and Harold (Katherine) Brooks; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Visitation will be at 3:30 pm on December 21, with the memorial service following at 4 pm at First Baptist Church in Greencastle.
