
Henry “Lee” Martin, 88 of Russellville, passed away at his beloved country home surrounded by his family on October 29, 2016. Lee was born, January 17, 1928 to Jesse Martin and Era Bales Martin in Parke County, Indiana.
He married Charlotte Taylor on April 27, 1952 and she survives. He attended Clinton Center High School and graduated in 1946. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954 in Germany.
In addition to his loving wife he is survived by his children, Michael Lee Martin (Brenda Smith) of Rockville, IN, Deborah Lynn Cravens (Mark) of Bloomington, IN; Marcella ”Marcy” Dawn Hazen (Doug) of Bloomington, IN; grandsons, Stacy Goad, Travis Goad, Cory Underwood and Jayce Hazen all of Bloomington, IN; great-grandson, Skylar Goad of Spencer, IN; siblings, Betty Jean Snodgrass, Everett Martin, Elsie Padgett, and Otis “Max” Martin, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lee worked most of his life as a farmer in Putnam County as well as building fences and cutting wood for anyone who asked. He enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, making maple syrup and going to his “office” in Rockville.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 1 from 4 pm until 7 pm in New Life Baptist Church, Greencastle. Funeral Services will be 10 am. Wednesday, November 2 in New Life Baptist Church, interment will follow in Clinton Falls Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts are encouraged to New Life Baptist Church, Greencastle, IN.
