Howard Brown

Howard W. Brown Muskegon, MI Mr. Howard Wayne Brown, age 91, passed away October 9, 2012 at his home. Mr. Brown was born May 5, 1921 to Amos and Osa (Heady) Brown in Greencastle, Indiana. He served his country in the Army Air Corps during WWII and was a lifetime member and past commander of VFW Post 1550. Howard was employed at the Indiana Youth Center in Plainfield, IN until his retirement in 1985. He was a Master Mason and Shriner at Temple Lodge 47 in Greencastle, IN. He is SURVIVED by his children, Jan (Greg) Bone of Gibsonia, PA, Monna Coons of Rancho Mirage, CA, and Stanley (Jean) Brown of Indianapolis, IN; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; his sister, Liz Morlan of Brazil, IN; several loving nieces and nephews; and his longtime companion, Joyce E. Forbes of Muskegon. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Coleman Brown; siblings, Ray, Roscoe, George, Earl and Ruth. VISITATION will be 4-8 PM Thursday at Bittles & Hurt Funeral Home, 602 E. Washington in Greencastle, IN. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Friday, October 12, 2012 at the funeral home.
