Irene W. Hood Spencer

She was born on May 31, 1925 in Lebanon to Clarence Hood and Sophia Howard Hood.

Irene married Ralph Spencer, Sr. on December 6, 1941 and he preceded her in death on June 14, 1994.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Bobby Lee Spencer; daughter-in-law, Colleen Spencer; two brothers, Gerald Hood and Bill Hood; son-in-law, Bill Fink and a great-grandson Clayton Lewis Spencer. .

Surviving are her children, Bill “Butch” Spencer of Ellenboro, WV, Ronald G. Spencer and wife Lois of Greencastle, Ralph Spencer Jr. and wife Becky of Greencastle, Patricia Branson and husband William of Lawrenceville, GA, Norma Fink of Greencastle and Florence Stockton and husband Harlin of Greencastle; 12 grandchildren and spouses, and 22 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 10 A.M. at Bittles & Hurt Funeral Home, with Pastor Buck Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Clinton Falls Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 13, 2012 from 4 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Irene had a love of flowers and gardening, and greatly enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family has requested memorials to Clinton Falls Community Church.
