Jackie L. Sutherlin, 85, Greencastle, died October 9th at The Waters of Greencastle Nursing Home. Born September 13, 1941, in Bloomington, she was the daughter of H. Jane (Buzzaird) Gaither and John Buzzaird.
She was a Manual High School (Indianapolis) graduate.
She worked for many years at Indiana Bell (Indianapolis) and Putnam County Telephone Company (Cloverdale) before retiring and working part time at Eitel’s & Co Florist (Greencastle).
She volunteered with the Putnam County Hospital Guild for many years accumulating 1000+ volunteer hours as well as serving in leadership roles.
Most recently she was the president of the Resident Council at The Waters.
She had a tremendous passion for arts and crafts.
Survivors include husband Norman, Greencastle; three daughters, Kimberly Howard (James), Dawn Ferguson (Douglas Rogers) and Laura Reed (Anthony); seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM on Wednesday until time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Activities Department at The Waters of Greencastle.
