

Janice D. Chaney, 88, of Greencastle, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her home on September 27, 2025, of natural causes. There are no words that can fully express how deeply she will be missed by her family and all who knew her.
Janice was born on July 30, 1937, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Isaac and Ruby Rogers. In 1957, she met the love of her life, William Chaney, and they were married in Tennessee. Together they built a family rooted in love, laughter, and resilience.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband William, and her oldest Bill.
Janice is survived by her loving family:
· Daughter-in-law (Bill’s wife) Linda, and their children Zachary and Michelle (fiancé Jeremiah), and great-grandson Aidan.
· Daughter Brenda McClure and husband Kenny, and their daughters Holly Bohannon (husband Seth, children Adleigh and Cullen). Amy McClure & husband Kyle.
· Son Tim Chaney and wife Rhonda, and their sons Ryan (husband Craig) and Josh (girlfriend Ruby).
· Daughter Terease Cox and husband Derrick, their son Matthew, and great-grandson Brycen.
Janice cherished her family above all else. She delighted in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, finding joy in every milestone, story, and laugh they shared.
She spent her later year at Autumn Glen, where she was adored by staff and residents alike. The care and companionship she received there made her shine daily, and she left a lasting impact on everyone she encountered.
Janice had a vibrant spirit, a sharp wit, and a gift for making others laugh. She was a storyteller, a friend, and above all, a loving mother and grandmother. Her presence brought warmth to every gathering, and her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.
A celebration of Janice’s life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember the remarkable woman she was.
She will be missed beyond measure, but her love, laughter, and legacy will continue to shine brightly through her family.
