Jo-Ann Tharp

Born May 10, 1934 in Greencastle, she was the daughter of Leo and Mary Frances (Hutcheson) Hazlett and was a graduate of Bainbridge High School “Class of 1952”.

Jo Ann had retired from RR Donnelly and previously worked at PR Malloy, IBM, and the Angwell Curtain Factory. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Fillmore Lions Club, and a member of the Fillmore Methodist Church. She enjoyed taking walks and feeding the hummingbirds.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Royal Tharp on Sept 8, 1976; a son, James Kelly, daughter, Laura West, brothers, Everett and John Hazlett; and grandsons, Ralph Bartley, Willie Hayes, Dwight Trueblood, and John Roy Tharp.

She is survived by her son, Scott (Lora) Tharp; a daughter, Joyce (Larry) Morgan; grandchildren, Sarah (Jessie) Cox, Nathan Tharp, Nicholas Tharp, Lydia Tharp, Evelyn Tharp, Daniel Trueblood, Jennifer Dixon, Jeff Kelly, Jim Hayes, Ron Hayes, and Don Hayes.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with interment to follow at the Deer Creek Baptist Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon on Sunday until time of service at the funeral home.
