Born August 13, 1937 in Parke County, she was the daughter of Samuel and Bessie (Harney) Dickey and a graduate of Raccoon Township High School “Class of 1955”.
Joan married Keith R. Patterson on May 11, 1957 and he survives.
Joan was a homemaker and had worked at the Putnam County Courthouse.
Survivors include her husband, Keith; children, Brian Patterson, Darrell (Mary) Patterson, Terri (Brian) Phillips and Stacy (Holly) Patterson; a brother, Dale Dickey; a sister, Rita Long; nine grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 31, 2014 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 30th at the funeral home.
