She was born on June 12, 1939 in Plainfield to Jess Morphew and Ione Kendall Morphew.
Joy had been employed for over 30 years at P.R. Mallory, and had been employed at Putnam County Hospital in the kitchen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Ronald Morphew and Max Morphew.
Surviving are her husband David D. Stewart, whom she married on October 22, 1960; a sister-in-law, Mary Jane Garland;
a brother-in-law, Robert Stewart; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 1 P.M. at Bittles & Hurt Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Stilesville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11 A.M. until time of services at the funeral home.
