Joyce was born in Wadesboro, Louisiana on August 25, 1931, the daughter of Ben and Octavia (Lavagine) Wood, and attended Bainbridge Schools.
Mrs. Modlin worked for 32 years with Mallory Capacitors until her retirement.
Survivors include her husband of 71 years, Clifford Modlin; a daughter, Brenda Reed, (husband-Terry); a son, Darrel Modlin; three grandchildren, Jeff Modlin, (wife-Michelle), Jennifer Kistler, (husband-Jeff), and Rob Bundy; seven great-grandchildren; two nieces and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and two sisters.
Graveside services will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, November 27, 2020, at Brick Chapel Cemetery. Burial will follow the service.
