Joyce M. Wood

She was born on September 26, 1942 in Liberty, Kentucky to James Cundiff and Myrtle Randolph Cundiff.

Mrs. Wood was a 1960 graduate of Greencastle High School. She confounded the Marion Township Civil Defense and was a former member of the ladies auxiliary. Most recently she had been employed as the office manager at Snyder Hearing, Inc. in Greencastle.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Cundiff, Sr.; and two sisters, Susanne Dittmer and Anna Castor.

Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Richard L. “Woody” Wood, Sr.; her mother, Myrtle Cundiff; two sons, Richard L. Wood, Jr. and wife Joanna of Fillmore, Donald A. Wood and wife Julie of Fillmore; one daughter, Donna sue Young and husband Shane of Roachdale; four sisters, Lana Schimpf, Phyllis Neuman, Mary Beck and Alma Jeff; one brother, James Cundiff, Jr.; three step-sisters, Teresa Cundiff, Anita Cundiff and Billy Jo Cundiff ; eight grandchildren, Brian Wood, Amanda Ballenger, Stephen Wood, Christopher Wood, Ashley Robertson, Joshua Stock, April Stock and Dakota Wood; and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at 11 A.M. at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, with Pastor Bob Muncie officiating. Interment will follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 from 5 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Joyce enjoyed crafts, gardening, and decorating. She enjoyed spending time with family, especially grandchildren.
