Keith Berry

H Keith Berry, age 81, went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 5, 2026 at Franciscan Health, Indianapolis. He was born on March 7, 1945 in Greencastle, IN to Harold and Mary Berry. Keith graduated from Greencastle High School and spent his entire life as a faithful steward of the land and livestock God entrusted to him. He married Loretta Faye Smithers on May 29, 1964 and shared 42 years of marriage before her passing in 2006. Keith reunited with former classmate, Sharyl Caldwell, and they were married on January 2, 2010.

Keith served in many roles, including President of the National Pork Producers Council, Indiana Pork Producers President, Putnam County Council, and Co-Alliance Board of Directors. He was honored as the Indiana Master Farmer in 2010. Keith could be seen supporting 4H members at the Putnam County Fair livestock auction and the members the South Putnam FFA Chapter. He was a faithful attendee of the Putnamville Church of Faith.

Keith is survived by his wife of 16 years, Sharyl; his children, Brian Berry (Lisa) and Donna Hines (Brian); grandchildren, Justin Berry, Collin Berry (Jessica Tucker), Cailyn Hines Brockway (Zach), Payton Hines; and great-granddaughter, Natalie Faye Brockway; siblings, Carolyn Shuee, Mary Lash (John), Jack Berry (Janae); Sisters in law, Opal Sutherlin (Dallas), Wanda O’Neal, and Vicki (Bob) Barger; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Berry; his parents, Harold and Mary Berry; his siblings, Virginia Stephens and Milton Berry; and brothers and sister-in-laws, Herb Smithers, Bob Shuee, Jim Smithers, Carolee Smithers, Phil O’Neal and Howard Stephens.

Keith is being served by the Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, IN. Visitation will be Monday, July 13 from 3pm until 8pm. His Homegoing Service will be Tuesday, July 14 at 11am.
