Kyle Ray Walker
April 22, 1960 – February 21, 2021
Kyle Ray Walker, 60, of Greencastle, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021.
Born April 22, 1960 in Crawfordsville, he was the son of Jack W. and Penelope J. (Roach) Walker and was a graduate of Fountain Central High School “Class of 1978”.
Kyle worked as a shipping clerk for Walmart Distribution in Greencastle. He had previously been a manager at the Greencastle McDonalds.
Kyle was a fanatic sports fan, and an avid follower of Purdue and the Chicago Cubs.
He was preceded in death by his Father and mother-in-law, Charlene Cox.
Kyle is survived by his wife, Laurie Ann (O’Neal) Walker; a son, Peyton Walker; his Mother; a sister, Kittina Jones; a nephew, Jared Daniel; nieces, Kirsten (Scott) Elmore and Karlee Jones and great nieces & nephew.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, IN. Interment will follow at the Putnamville Cemetery, Putnamville, IN.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, February 26th.

I remember Kyle from the days he was my supervisor. He always treated me fairly. He loved to tease Steve about it. He had a great sense of humor and believed in working hard. He deserved to be promoted to manager. He was a special guy and a good friend. He will be missed.

I am so sorry for your loss. Kyle and I were childhood friends. I lost touch with him after we graduated and I moved away. I will always remember Kyles smile and his great attitude. He never had a bad word to say about anyone.

Kyle was a great guy. I always enjoyed talking to him at work whenever I had to work shipping overtime. Anyone that knew Kyle liked him. Rest in peace buddy.

I hired Kyle at the old Greencastle McDonalds many years ago. We’ve been close friends ever since. He will be missed by many people and I will cherish all the memories we shared. I loved him like a brother and will miss our Wrigley Field baseball games and many adventures. I’m sure glad he got to see the Cubs win the World Series. Miss you already brother!

Kyle will be remembered as a great person and valued Walmart associate. For close to 18 years, he brought to work a calm demeanor, a pleasant smile, and a great attitude. He will be missed by all the lives that he touched. I will always remember Kyle for the example he set to others.
