Larry Darrel Crowder

Larry was born in England on May 13, 1952, the son of Sandy Darrel and Margaret Mary Crowder, and was a 1971 graduate of Rosedale High School. He earned his bachelor’s degree in environmental health from Indiana State University.

Mr. Crowder proudly served in the United States Navy for 21 years until his retirement in 1993. He went on to work at both Vigo and Hendricks County Heath Departments until he retired again in 2014. He loved woodworking, fishing, snorkeling, and scuba diving. He also enjoyed cruises.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Eva Mae Crowder; two sisters, Marlene Frazier, (Leslie), and Lindasue Wilson, (Earl); his stepson, Philip Ashcraft, (Kelley); a niece Heather Frazier Beck, (Darren); and a nephew, Robert Frazier, (Cierra).

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with Chaplain Ken Coffman officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may gather at the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. until time of service.
