Marcia was a 1960 graduate of Greencastle High School. She was a member of Greencastle Moose Lodge 1592. She had previously attended Church of God in Greencastle. Marcia loved going to the casino, playing cards and Bingo. She retired in 2002 after being a cook for over sixty years. She worked at DePauw University and Asbury Towers.
She married Oscar King Sr. on June 25, 1960. He preceded her in death on June 24, 2016.
Marcia is survived by her children, Oscar King Jr (Jill) and Diana Norton (Rickey); Grandchildren: Debra Blakey (Mike), Tara Grant, Tiffany Poynter (Bobby), Jacob King, Barry Norton, Marcella Norton, and Rickey Norton Jr; Sixteen great grandchildren; brother, Hubert Sims; sister, Lola Norris (Don); special friends, Jan Bray, Chris Morlan and Martha Sutherlin and a large extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Nannie Sims; brothers, Roland Sims and Daniel Sims and two great grandchildren, Brody Campbell and Remington Campbell.
Visitation for Marcia will be on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Services will follow at 1:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Boone-Hutchenson Cemetery.
