

Carole was born April 26,1942 to William Ayers "Doc" Nelson, and Margaret B. (Bunton) Nelson.
She was a 1960 graduate of Greencastle High School. She worked in sales at Indiana Bell before moving to Plainfield, with her husband, Ned H. Wright in 1968. She then devoted herself to raising their five daughters and homemaking. She later worked as a teaching assistant at Brentwood Elementary. A lifelong learner, she obtained her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certificate in 2005 as a challenge to herself.
Carole was a member of Plainfield Christian Church, active member of Daughters of the American Revolution and past member of Tri Kappa.
Carole's many interests included traveling the United States with her late husband, cooking, sewing, gardening, cake decorating, fishing, art, history, and spirited political debates. She enjoyed spending time in nature, especially at the family farm where she created many cherished memories.
She is survived by her five daughters, Julie (Curt) VanWanzeele, Amy (Trent) Cowles, Tracy (Marc) McCardle, Kathy (Wade) LaRoche, and Stephanie (Jeff) Berens; thirteen grandchildren and one great-granddaughter as well as sisters, Linda (Fred) Mann and Marcia (Dan, deceased) Whaley.
Carole was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband of fifty one years Ned, and sister Nancy (Ron, deceased) Baumgart.
In agreement with her wishes, private graveside services will be held. Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
