Marian Alice Baldwin

Marian Alice Lawson-Baldwin, formerly of Bainbridge, Indiana, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on November 11, 1942, Marian was one of 19 children born to William and Stella Ward.

A beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Marian, wife to the late Richard E. Lawson of 50 plus years, with whom she shared many years of love and hard work on their family farm. After his passing, she found companionship again and later remarried Marvin Baldwin of Greencastle.

Marian was the proud mother of Jeffrey Lawson (Julie), the late Douglas Todd Lawson, and William Chad Lawson (Heather). She was a devoted grandmother to Sarah Lawson (deceased), Christopher Lawson, Michael Lawson, Ian Lawson, and Mackinley Lawson. She also has 2 great-grandchildren, Maddie Lawson and Douglas Lawson.

Marian was the owner and operator of Top Style Hair Salon for over 30 years, during which she built lasting relationships with her clients and the community. She had a deep love of music and gardening, and she found joy in working outdoors, especially alongside Richard on their farm.

Marian’s generous spirit, strong work ethic, and love for her family will be remembered by all who knew her.

A graveside service will be held in Bainbridge, Indiana, on August 30, 2025, at 11 AM. In place of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Marian’s memory to the Putnam County Humane Society.
