Marjorie F. Spargur Owens

She was born on May 3, 1925 in Indianapolis to Charles E. Spargur and Ruth K. Fate Spargur.

Mrs. Owens was a member of Hanna Street Baptist Church. Marjorie had owned the Trim and Curl as a beautician. Later she was a receptionist at DePauw University, where she retired with 23 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband William E. Owens; son, Roger G. Vickous and sister, Virginia Heartwell.

Surviving are her children, Gary D. Vickous and wife Pati of North Vernon and Susie F. McMains and husband Larry of Greencastle; a brother, Charles E. Spargur and wife Lora of Indianapolis; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at 2:30 P.M., at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, with Pastor Patrick Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Boone-Hutcheson Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12 noon until time of services at the funeral home.
