Born May 21, 1934, in Brazil, Indiana the daughter of Albert and Cleo (Gettle) Tiefel. She was a graduate of Cory High School.
Mary was a homemaker. She was a graduate of Indiana State University with a teaching degree. She was a member of the Elks, Eagles, and Moose Lodges, American Legion and VFW Ladies Auxiliaries, and Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Michael B. Lewis; brother Thomas Tiefel and grandson Kadeo Lewis.
Mary is survived by her children Tamara (Tom) Lewis Engles, Michele M. (Brad) Cross, and Kelly (Crystal) Lewis; brother Jerry (Karen) Tiefel; sister June Lawson; grandchildren Kristen (Kevin) Tenney, Danielle (Brian) Golobish, Amanda Trump, Briana (Matt) Tyson, Carter Lewis, and Braxton Lewis; great grandchildren Connor & Lennon Golobish, Gavin, Rowen, & Isla Tyson.
Private graveside services with interment to follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery. Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
