Mary Ann Staley

Born September 13, 1933 in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Ollie and Velva Guthrie and a graduate of Ben Davis High School “Class of 1951”.

Mary enjoyed farming, gardening, and working at the DePauw University Library. She was a member of the Fillmore Christian Church and Ladies Bible Study, and the Club 16 Home Ec Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Charlie Michael and Lyle Staley; her daughter, Patricia Michael; and her sister, Donna Chappell.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Jean (Dale) Steele, Linda (Mark) Baird, and Chris (Ernie) Sheldon; a sister, Betty Quass; a brother, John (June) Guthrie; seven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until time of service.
