Born September 9, 1963 in Greencastle, the son of Gary L. and Kay A. (Sutherlin) Thompson. He was a graduate of Greencastle High School “Class of 1981”.
He was a veteran having served in the United States Air Force.
Mike had worked with his Father in small engine repair in their shop, G&M Services. He had previously worked at Headley Hardware for several years.
Mike was an enthusiastic Kyle Busch and NASCAR fan.
He was preceded in death by his Mother and a grandson, Aiden Elijah Payne.
Mike is survived by his wife, Misti Harris; children, Autumn (Austin) Payne, Michael R. Thompson Jr and Antonio Harris; his father, Gary Thompson; sister, Sherry (Ralph) Rogers; and grandson, Elijah Austin Payne.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
