Phillip Marion Butt Sr.

Born April 10, 1931, in Cory, Indiana the son of John Ray and Nila (Winn) Butt. He was a graduate of Staunton High School “Class of 1949”. Phil was a veteran having served in the United States Air Force.

Phil worked at IBM from 1955 to 1987, retiring in 1987. He had also raised Limousin cattle and did hay processing for several years. He was a member of the Church of Christ, Greencastle, past President of the Reelsville Water Company, and served as precinct committee member for the Republican party.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and three sisters.

Phil is survived by his wife Nancy E. Butt; children Debra Butt and Phillip M Butt Jr.; stepchildren Tony (Tami) Robertson, Natalie (Jim) Pritchard, and Dean (Sandra) Robertson; eight step grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the Boone-Hutcheson Cemetery with military honors. Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
