Richard Earnest Collins

Richard Earnest Collins, 68, of Greencastle, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2019, at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis. Richard was born in Greencastle on March 8, 1951, the son of Bruce and Christine (Trout) Collins, and was a graduate of Greencastle High School. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University. Mr. Collins worked for Arvin, Roll Coater, and Lehigh Cement as a Buyer for many years. His true passion was working as a Reserve Deputy for Mitchell Police Department. Richard was a member of Greencastle Masonic Lodge #47. Survivors include his mother; a daughter, Marla Collins, Greenwood; a step-daughter, Blair Davis, Columbus; a sister, Becky Carter, (husband-Dale), Coatesville; three grandsons; a step-granddaughter; and a nephew, Clay Carter, (wife-Lindsay), Greencastle. He was preceded in death by his father. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2019, at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, 4 Percy L. Julian Drive, Greencastle, Indiana 46135, with Pastor Aaron Plessinger officiating. Burial will follow in Cloverdale Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service Saturday.
