Richard Earnest Collins

Richard was born in Greencastle on March 8, 1951, the son of Bruce and Christine (Trout) Collins, and was a graduate of Greencastle High School. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University.

Mr. Collins worked for Arvin, Roll Coater, and Lehigh Cement as a Buyer for many years. His true passion was working as a Reserve Deputy for Mitchell Police Department. Richard was a member of Greencastle Masonic Lodge #47.

Survivors include his mother; a daughter, Marla Collins, Greenwood; a step-daughter, Blair Davis, Columbus; a sister, Becky Carter, (husband-Dale), Coatesville; three grandsons; a step-granddaughter; and a nephew, Clay Carter, (wife-Lindsay), Greencastle.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2019, at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, 4 Percy L. Julian Drive, Greencastle, Indiana 46135, with Pastor Aaron Plessinger officiating. Burial will follow in Cloverdale Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service Saturday.
