

Robert (Butch) Wayne Blue, Jr., 74, of Reelsville passed away suddenly Tuesday morning, September 9, 2025. Butch was born June 2, 1951, to Robert Wayne Blue, Sr. and Carol Lucille (Clark) of Greencastle, who proceeded him in death. He’s survived by two sisters: Robin Lucas and Terrie (Doug) Daugherty, his Uncle Steve Clark, Aunt Donna Clark, several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Butch graduated from Reelsville High School in 1969. He joined the U.S. Navy in September 1969 and was honorably discharged in 1971.
Butch started his trucking career where he was known as “Little Kid” when he got out of the Navy and continued until January 2025.
June 3, 1973, Butch married Linda (Sillery). She survives. They had 2 children: Eric (Cheryl) Blue and Carrie (Ryan) Thompson; eight grandchildren: Maegan Blue, Kaylee (Austin) Gibson, Braedan Blue, Eva Hubbard (fiancé Santiago Hernandez), Justin (Alyssa) Baxter, Brayden Baxter (fiancé Ella Collier), Madison Thompson, and Mason (Jaydon) Thompson. Five great grandchildren: Mason Baxter, Calvain Gibson, Mila Baxter, Carmen Gibson, and Wrenley Thompson.
Butch never met a stranger and had many friends. He enjoyed his morning coffee, playing cards on Friday nights, and taking his dog, Di, for daily rides. He was very involved with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
In his later years, Butch enjoyed traveling to Mexico, Dominican Republic, and Jamaica with family and friends.
He attended Big Walnut Baptist Church.
Butch will be sadly missed by many.
A celebration of life for Butch will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 28, 2025 at the Putnam County Fair Grounds.
