

Robert "Bob" Costin passed away at his home on Monday, August 11, 2025 doing what he loved ... Bob doing Bob things. Born, June 23, 1933, he was the son of Hughie and Myrtle Costin and had four siblings (Nob, Ann Jones, Jimmy & EvahJean). All preceded him in death. He graduated from Cloverdale High School in 1951.
From 1953-1961 Bob served in the US Army with rank of Corporal. His service took him from Fort Sheridan to Worms Germany. In 1955 he married Barbara Miller. They were married for almost 70 years and had two children.
Bob was employed by JI Case Company/IH for over 40 years. During his career he owned his own dealership in Marion, IN. He became District Sales Manager where he was recognized numerous times as the top DM for the company. His achievements took him and Barb all over the world.
In 1967, he met Kenny Bane and signed Bane Equipment as a Case dealership in Wingate, IN. The rest is history.
In 1986 he was diagnosed with Hairy Cell Leukemia. He agreed to numerous medical trials and has been the longest living HCL survivor in the US.
He is survived by his daughter Tonya (Darin) Jester; son Nolan (Kim) Costin; grandchildren Megan (Andy) Bardot, Derek (Rebecca) Holman, Nick Costin (Shelby), and Alex (Ivy) Costin; and great-grandchildren Isaac and Julianna Holman and Cordelia Bardot.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday August 16, at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with Kirsten Jones officiating. Interment will follow at the Deer Creek Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home on Saturday.
Friends and family are invited to gather at Bob and Barb’s residence after services on Saturday.
